Game Recap

On Tuesday night at Moorhead Stadium the 7th Grade A team finished up their season in a thriller against Woodridge Forest Middle School with a 24-19 victory. In a game where the Mustangs faced tons of adversity, they never once backed down and stood tall to the challenge. Running back Kai Disdier led the Mustangs offense punching it in twice on some nice runs. Quarterback Brandon Seidmeyer had a huge game throwing 2 touchdown passes, one to Jackson Blank and another to Jonathan Adams. Both passes ended up large as they were 4th down conversions that would add to the Mustangs score. On defense the Mustangs faced a tall challenge against a physical offense but never backed away. They were led by Jax Mills who broke up several passes along with the entire defensive line who played well. Quarterback Brandon Seidmeyer would also make a couple huge plays in the final quarter to help preserve the Mustangs lead. The Mustangs finished the year 7-1 for the season.

Game Recap

The 8th Grade B team concluded their season on Monday night at Buddy Moorhead Stadium with a 24-0 victory over Washington Junior High. The Mustangs got started early when Donovan Garcia took a handoff into the end zone for a short TD and put the Mustangs up 8-0. Running back Nathan Gonzaga would then break loose for 35 yards and find the end zone to put the Mustangs up 16-0. Gonzaga would then find the end zone again when the Mustangs would execute a trick play to perfection and he took it 40 yards for a TD. For the defense, they played a perfect game, led by Kade Dunlap, Noah Huff, Ross Reynolds, and Adam Hall.

The Mustangs finished their season 5-3.

Game Recap

The 7th Grade B team concluded their season on Monday night as they took on New Caney Junior High at Moorhead Stadium in Conroe. The Mustangs started quick and never let up, winning by a final score of 21-0. The Mustangs got on the board when quarterback Caylon Dygert found wide receiver CJ Davis for a TD. Dygert would then find Carson Rowe on a shovel pass and Rowe would take it the distance for six. Running back Trevyn Gabriel would then find a seam and extend the Mustang lead to 21-0. The Mustang defense pitched another shutout, their 4th straight in route to the win. The defense was led by Seth Waid, Jack Strathouse, Jayden Lemuel, and as agreed upon by the team MVP Jena Rubacalba, who played through sickness and made several plays early.

The 7th Grade B team finished their season 7-1 and finished with 5 straight wins.

Game Recap

The Magnolia West Mustangs traveled to Tomball this past Friday night, and left with a 51-27 victory over the Cougars.
The Mustangs opened the game with a great kickoff return by Conner Phillips, giving the Mustang Offense good field position to start the game. Preston Deming would start off the Mustangs scoring with a 19 yard run. Deming would finish the night with 87 yards on 25 carries. The Mustangs would strike again on the first drive in the second quarter with one of five John Matocha touchdown runs, which would help break open the game as the Mustangs would score 24 point in the second quarter. Matocha would run 16 times during the game for 81 yards. Konner Cooper was the Mustang’s leading receiver for the game with seven receptions for 81 yards, with Simon Gonzales adding in 32 yards on 2 receptions and 1 touchdown.
The defense played solid all night, limiting the explosive Cougars offense to 27 points. Joel Heitikko ended the night as the leading tackler for the defense with 10 stops and 2 pass break ups while Rusty Bertrand would chip in 9 tackles. Late in the game Jared Soyring would sack the Cougar’s quarter back stopping a drive in which the Cougars need to score. Soyring would finish the night with three tackles and two sacks.
The Mustangs will host the Huntsville Hornets the Friday at 7:30 PM. Come out, be loud and cheer the Mustangs on to victory.

Mustangs raced great at the Woodlands Invitational. Girls finished 7th and Boys finished 9th overall. Relay highlights: Boys finished 11th in the 200 medley and 7th in the 400 free. Girls finished 4th in the 200 and 400 free relays. Individual highlights: Alex Flores finished 3rd in the 200 free and 4th in the 100 fly. Tristan Richert finished 6th in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 back. Noah Richert finished 4th in the 50 free. Girls Jessica Ayo finished 3rd in the 200 free and 4th in the 100 free. Allie Giles finished 4th in the 100 fly. Emily Merner finished 12th the 100 back. Emily Bostain finished 13th in the 200 IM and 8th in the 100 back

Game Recap

On Wednesday night the 7th Grade A team defeated Tomball 28-6. Kai Disdier got the scoring started by catching a deflected pass and taking it 70 yards for a touchdown. He would score several other times on the evening. Colton Adcox did a great job running the ball along with Disdier and the entire offensive line helped pave the way. On defense the Mustangs pitched a shutout as the lone Tomball touchdown came from a offensive turnover. Colby Burns played well in the secondary as he had a few pass breakups. Jackson Blank anchored the front 7 with several key tackles. They will take on Woodridge Junior High next Tuesday at Moorhead Stadium at 5:30.

Game Recap

Wednesday night the 8th Grade A team took on Tomball and fell short 8-0. The offense was highlighted by Trey Leggett who had several nice catches and Tye Copeland had a few nice runs. On defense the Mustangs played extremely well. They were led by Cole Savoy, Hunter Bilbo, Hayden Jansky, and Dawson Jones. They are back in action next Tuesday at Magnolia High School where they will take on New Caney Junior High at 6:30.
