Game Recap

The Lady Mustang Maroon Team fell to Oak Hills in two sets 25-14 and 25-18. Kourtney Wright paced the offense with 7 service points followed by Reagan Jones with 6. Great hits were performed by middle hitter, Rebekah York and Right Side Hitter Chloe Brown. The defense was paced by setters Carley Scott and Reagan Jones.

Game Recap

The Gold Volley ball team played 2 hard fought games vs. Oak Hill but fell short with scores of 25-18 and 25-15. The first game was led by Hannah Taylor with 4 serves and an outstanding block at the net. Evyn Snook added in some strong hits at the net that were too tough for the defense to return. Our defense was led by Tennessee Day and Carly Winkler. In the second game Sarah Vance had some great sets while Kassidy Johnson added in a few points from her serving. We all contributed points and worked together.

The 8th grade maroon team traveled to Oak Hill JH yesterday to play the Lady Lions. In two tough nail bitters, the Lady Mustangs pulled out the W! Set one was won 25-23 & set two 28-26! In set one, Payton Kirtley lead with 9 serve points followed by Sawyer Swinford & Zoey Buck each with 6 in the second set. Haleigh McDonald, Ryder Cambron & Reagan Wade each had lots of digs to help their team defensively. Way to go Lady Mustangs!

Meet Recap

Great job to the Mustangs as they race to a win over Brenham. Relay Highlights: Girls and Boys 200 Medley Relays and 200 Free Relays take 1st. Girls 400 Free Relay also takes 1st. Individual highlights: Emily Bostain takes 1st in the 200 free, Alex Flores 1st in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Noah Richert takes 1st in the 100 fly and 100 back. Other 1st place wins came from Allie Giles, Jessica Ayo, Tristan Richert, and Emily Merner.

Game Recap

The Lady Mustangs 8th Grade Gold team traveled to Oak Hill on Thursday and defeated the Lions in 3 sets. The Lady Mustangs won the first set 25-15, lost momentum and fell short in the second set 18-25, and pulled together to secure the victory in the third set 15-11. The outstanding players of the match included all around players Avery Carlyle and Paige Driggers who carried the team in points. Way to go Mustangs!

Game Recap

On Monday night the 8th Grade B team traveled to Waller and took on the Bulldogs. The Mustangs started quick and defeated Waller 40-14. The Mustangs had several key players on offense, led by Nathan Gonzaga who scored 3 times, running belt Donovan Garcia who scored twice, and then Devon Banks who scored the last one. Other standouts on offense, were quarterback, Chase Taylor and the entire offensive line. On defense the Mustangs were led by Isaiah Sanders who recorded multiple sacks, Kade Dunlap, Seth Allen, and Roberto Dorado.

The Mustangs are back in action next Monday as they’ll take on the Washington Bulldogs at Moorhead Stadium.

Game Recap

The Magnolia West Varsity Volleyball Team wrapped up their season this evening, in Brenham, losing in the first round of playoffs against the Rouse Raiders from Leander, TX. The Mustangs floor defense was lead by senior libero, Delayna Mills, with 13 digs and the defense at the net was lead by junior middle blocker, Hannah Eggleston , with 5 blocks. The Mustangs middle blockers lead the way in offense with junior, Kendall May hitting a .500 and Hannah Eggleston hitting a .364, combining for 6 kills. Junior outside hitter, Rylie Scales also had a great night offensively, finishing up the match with a hitting percentage of .250. The Lady Mustangs would like to thank everyone who came out and supported them this season! MUSTANGS ROCK!

Game Recap

The 7th Grade B team headed to Tomball Junior High on Monday night in their 1st playoff game and walked away victorious 13-0. The Mustangs got off to a good start when quarterback Caylon Dygert found wide receiver CJ Davis on a deep pass on 3rd and long that totaled 65 yards. Dygert would then find Davis again on a short one to put the Mustangs up 13-0. The Mustangs defense posted a shutout and was led by Jena Rubacalba, Carson Rowe who had an interception, Jack Strathouse, and Nathan Albritton, who had a nice pass break up.

The 7th Grade B team will wrap up their season next Monday at 5:30 at Moorhead Stadium with their opponent TBA.

Game Recap

The Mustangs hosted the Waller Bulldogs this past Friday and left the field with another win, clinching a spot in the playoffs and bringing their overall record to 7-0 on a night that was less than hospitable.

The Mustang’s offense started fast with Preston Deming scoring on a 50 yard run. Deming would score one more touchdown on a 1-yard run in the second quarter to tie up the game at 14. He would finish the night with 113 yard on 17 carries. Later in the second quarter, Bryce Williamson would score on an 11 yard scamper to put the Mustangs ahead for good. Williamson finished the night at the Mustang’s leading rusher with 134 yards on 19 carries. On the second drive of the 3rd quarter, John Matocha connected with Konner Cooper for a 20 yard touchdown. Matocha would finish the night with 81 yards passing with one touchdown to go with his 41 yards rushing and one touchdown on a 21 yard scamper. Deming would finish the scoring for the night with another 1 yard plunge into the Endzone.

On Defense, the Mustangs gave up two early scores to Waller, but would shut out the Bulldogs for the rest of the game. Rusty Bertrand, Noah Bryson and Jared Soyring lead the Mustangs with 13, 9 and 8 tackle. The defense held the Bulldogs passing attack to only 145 passing yards. Late in the game, with the Bulldogs threatening to score, Brady Huckfelt intercepted a pass from the Bulldogs quarterback to help close out the game.

The Mustangs travel to Tomball next Friday to take on the the Tomball Cougars at Tomball ISD Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30 PM.
